CARNEGIE HALL
CARNEGIE HALL. Located two blocks from Central Park at 57th Street and Seventh Avenue in midtown Manhattan, Carnegie Hall is listed as a U.S. NATIONAL HISTORIC LANDMARK and a one of the U. S. NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES. It was one of the last buildings in New York constructed entirely of masonry by philanthropist Andrew CARNEGIE in 1891. The Hall opened for a five-day music festival beginning on May 5th that year and continues to host the world's most celebrated classical artists.
