MOZENA, Edna. (Dubuque, IA, Apr. 27. 1921--Dubuque, IA, Mar. 28, 2017). The daughter of William and Charlotte (Jecklin) Gottschalk, Edna graduated from DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL in the class of 1938. On October 9, 1940, she married Kenneth E. MOZENA in Dubuque. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 25, 2000. During WORLD WAR II, she worked at the FARLEY AND LOETSCHER MANUFACTURING COMPANY.

After marriage, Edna was a farmer, a partner in the TRI-STATE AUCTION AND REALTY SERVICE INC., and a faithful employee at GENTRY (THE). Edna was an honoree in Albrecht Acres’ Hall of Fame; a member of Circle One of the Martha Society of IMMANUEL CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, Oxus Caldron, and Christian Women's Club; secretary of the Dubuque County Women’s Food Service, vice-president of the Sherrill Methodist Women’s Society, and “star” in her beloved bowling team, Brunch Bunch.

Among her children were Dr. Darryl Mozena, a frequent contributor to this encyclopedia, and Ambassador MOZENA, Dan.
