GILLOON, James Robert. (Dubuque, IA--1990). In 1960 Dr. John S. CHAPMAN and Dr. Eugene W. COFFMAN joined Dr. James Robert Gilloon in establishing the Dodge Street Internists. This later was renamed DUBUQUE INTERNAL MEDICINE.

Dr. Gilloon served in the Air Force during WORLD WAR II and then returned to Dubuque to complete his undergraduate degree at LORAS COLLEGE. He graduated from medical school at Creighton University in 1953 and completed his internship in internal medicine in 1954 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha. He did his Internal Medicine residency from 1954 to 1957 at the Mayo Foundation in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Gilloon worked at Dubuque Internal Medicine for thirty years before his death.
