LEWIS, Emma E. (Waukon Junction, IA, Feb. 25, 1909--Dubuque, IA, Oct. 30, 2005). Church leader. Lewis worked as a supervisor at the Omaha Bomber plant during WORLD WAR II and was later a buyer and supervisor of the Marshall Field's jewelry department in Chicago. After returning to Dubuque, she was a secretary and bookkeeper at ST. JOHN'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH for many years.

Lewis was a member of FIRST CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST and was instrumental in organizing the Council of Churches.
