BUELOW, C. J. (Sioux City, IA, Jan. 8, 1923- ). Bank executive. The retired president of HARVEST SAVINGS BANK (formerly Dubuque Savings and Loan Association), Buelow graduated from DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL and LORAS COLLEGE.
Active in the community, Buelow served as president of the Parent Teacher Association and the DUBUQUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT Board of Education. He held memberships in the Dubuque Industrial Development Corporation, DUBUQUE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, Dubuque Home Builders Association, and the Dubuque Board of Realtors. Buelow served on the boards of the Salvation Army and Luther Manor nursing home and was president of the Iowa Savings and Loan League.
In 1988 Buelow was awarded the Gil Chavenelle Award by the Dubuque Jaycees for his extensive community involvement and leadership.
