SIMON, Stephen (Dubuque, IA, Aug. 8, 1949-- ). Stephen Simon, veteran of the VIETNAM WAR had a long history of working in the area of law enforcement in Dubuque County. In addition to serving the cities of Epworth ad New Vienna, he was the chief of police in Sherrill for ten years. He changed uniforms, but continued to offer security protection at the Farley Speedway and then at the DUBUQUE COUNTY FAIR for ten years.

He married Deborah Lex Travis at SACRED HEART CHURCH in Dubuque. They had four children. Together they operated SIMON'S PAWN SHOP, the only one of its kind at the time, in Dubuque for a total of ten years.
