DUBUQUE REPUBLICAN
DUBUQUE REPUBLICAN. The establishment of the Dubuque Republican by Alonzo P. WOOD in June, 1857 gave the city its fourth daily. (1) The paper was published from June 1857 to October 20, 1857.
In October 1857 the DUBUQUE WEEKLY TRIBUNE purchased the Dubuque Republican. The combined newspapers continued as the "Tribune" until March 1858. (2)
