MCDERMOTT. Irene
MCDERMOTT, Irene. (Dubuque, IA--Dubuque, IA, Oct. 22, 2023) Irene was the daughter of Thomas and Kathryn (Burns) Lyons. She married Charles “Chuck” McDermott on November 8, 1952. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2017.
Irene graduated from St. Columbkille High School and went on to attend the UNIVERSITY OF DUBUQUE. She obtained her teaching degree and devoted her entire life to education. She worked for the DUBUQUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT for 30 years, retiring from FULTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
