SCHLOTH, Fred. (Germany, Feb. 9, 1831--Portland, Oregon, Mar. 21, 1895). Schloth emigrated to America in 1854 and came to Dubuque in 1856. In 1858, he was involved in the butchering and meat market business and continued in this for twenty years. (1)

He established SCHLOTH BROS. AND GRAY, manufacturer of Caledonia oatmeal and kiln-dried cornmeal at the foot of Eleventh Street in October 1879. (2) He left Dubuque around 1884. (3)
