SCHADLER, Donald R. (Cresco, IA, Feb. 28, 1926--Dubuque, IA, July 30, 2010). Following service in the Navy during WORLD WAR II, Schadler attended LORAS COLLEGE and then went to work for Capital Tobacco in the personnel department and the Oliver Corporation in Charles City, Iowa.

Following his move to Dubuque, he worked for CRESCENT ELECTRIC SUPPLY COMPANY in the general office. He retired in 1989 after thirty-five years with the company.

In the community, Schadler was an active member of St. Columbkille's parish and served on the council for three years, Boy Scouts chairman for eighteen years, ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY for more than twenty-five years, Parish Concerns Committee for twenty-five years and organized their Vocation Committee. He was chairman of the annual retreat of the Knights of Columbus 510 to New Melleray Abbey, Clarke College Development and Council Group, Serra Club, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
