ROBINSON, Frederick C.
ROBINSON, Frederick C. (Waterloo, IA, Sept. 18, 1871--Unknown). Robinson received his early education in the public schools and later entered BAYLESS BUSINESS COLLEGE. (1)
For a time Robinson was connected with the firm of DUNCAN & WALLER. In 1895, however, in partnership with Frank COATES he bought out this firm and under the name of Coates & Robinson continued the business until Coates purchased his interest. (2)
Robinson served two years in the role of exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge. He then served as district deputy of Iowa for three years, a unique accomplishment as most served only one. In 1904 he was elected Grand Secretary of the Elks at their meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was re-elected in 1905 and then again in 1906 in Denver, Colorado without opposition. (3)
In 1921 the organization announced that it decided to erect its memorial building and move its national headquarters to Chicago. Robinson announced in June that he would be retaining his entire staff which would relocate with him from Dubuque. (4)
