NAVY CLUB SHIP NO. 67. The Navy Club, a fraternal organization of Navy veterans, was first located on 4th and Main STREETS in downtown Dubuque. Open only to members, the building was owned and operated by Donna GINTER and her husband beginning in 1949. They paid a franchise fee for using the name.

The 1948 Dubuque Classified Business Directory listed 2417 Rhomberg.

The 1955 through 1968 Dubuque City Directory listed 469 Main.

With URBAN RENEWAL taking place in the 1960s, the Ginters moved their business to the building which once housed the GERMAN SAVINGS BANK. When the Ginters decided to no longer pay the franchise fee, they changed the name of the business to the Broken Spur.

They sold this business, but then had to take it back. The name was changed to the Silver Dollar. The Silver Dollar was sold twice more with costly renovations made by Ginter each time before she moved to the WEST DUBUQUE TAP.
