MEYER, Ella ( ) In 2024 Ella Meyer, student at DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, earned a prestigious award in a robotics world competition. She was one of twenty student named a recipient of the FIRST Dean's List at the FIRST Championship event in Houston, Texas. A member of the high school robotics team from the DUBUQUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT including more than twenty students from Senior and Hempstead, the team was the second in district history to qualify for the FIRST championship event. Members competed against 600 teams divided into eight divisions.

The Dean's List Award recognized individuals who "demonstrate exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to the advancement of FIRST." Meyer received a $10,000 scholarship to the college of her choice and was invited to attend the FIRST Dean's List Summit at FIRST headquarters in Manchester, New Jersey. (1)
