MATHEY CHEVROLET COMPANY. Mathey Chevrolet Used Cars was located in 1927 at 1944 Central. When it was relocated in 1929, the company advertised that only 3,600 of the 10,000 square feet facility was devoted to showroom, office and parts department. The rest was reserved for service.

Willis E. BIRD, then vice president and sales manager, later opened BIRD CHEVROLET with A. J. Walsh who is also mentioned. Ralph Kluseman was the father of Ralph KLUSEMAN, the musician who was a salesman for CLEMENS MOTOR SALES and then RILEY'S OLDS-MAZDA-SUBARU. (1)

The 1929 Dubuque City Directory through 1937 Dubuque Consurvey Directory listed 6th and Iowa.

The 1939 Dubuque Classified Business Directory listed Mathey Motors at 5th and White.
