GLAB, Nicholas. (Dubuque, IA, Apr. 10, 1857--Dubuque, IA, May 22, 1915). Eldest son of Adam GLAB, Nicholas was associated all his life in the management of the NORTHERN BREWING COMPANY. (1)
Upon the death of their father, his brothers joined Nicholas, and in 1892 the brewing company was consolidated with other local BREWERIES into the DUBUQUE BREWING AND MALTING COMPANY. Nicholas served as president and general manager. He was also the treasurer of the NUTWOOD DRIVING CLUB which played the important role of publicizing NUTWOOD PARK for horse races. (2)
