FRED MILLER BREWING CO. The Fred Miller Brewing Company, which became the famed Miller Brewing Company, was a Milwaukee concern that did business in Dubuque. In 1897 it appeared the company was going to build a new building at the corner of Eighth and Iowa STREETS. The deal failed when it wanted an additional thirty-three feet on Iowa Street which the owner was unwilling to sell. (1) The company chose instead to move their operations to the DIAMOND HOUSE on Julien Avenue which underwent renovations. (2)

The 1899-1900 through 1904-1905 Dubuque City Directory located this business at 12th and Pine.
