DIAMOND HOUSE
DIAMOND HOUSE. The Diamond House was located at West 8th. Purchased by the city in the fall of 1953 for $12,000, the building was torn down in 1954 to improve the intersection of Hill Street and University and provide drivers better visibility. (1)
The 1937 and 1945 directory shows a BEMIS UPHOLSTERING COMPANY in the "Diamond House " building at 579 West 8th. The 1948 directory shows "Diamond House Tavern" at that address.
