FLYNN, Madonna M. (East Dubuque, IL, June 26, 1922--Dubuque, IA, Apr. 2, 2014) The youngest of eleven children of Thomas and Katherine (Hilliard) Cox, Madonna graduated from St. Columbkille’s High School as a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. As a young woman she contributed to the war effort by working at the battery factory.
Madonna married Melvin P. Flynn on July 27, 1946 at ST. COLUMBKILLE CATHOLIC CHURCH. Together they raised six children and owned and operated FLYNN PRINTING AND GRAPHICS on Central. In their later years they traveled the world together. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1996.
