EPLAND, Harlan. (Adams, MN, July 15, 1919--Dubuque, IA, Aug. 11, 1997). Epland served in WORLD WAR II and then returned to Iowa where he graduated from the Iowa State Teachers College (University of Northern Iowa). He then moved to Dubuque and served as the executive director of the YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION (Y.M.C.A.) from 1957 to 1981.
