DUBUQUE DRAINAGE COMPANY. Established around 1878, the company offered some level of hope to miners faced with water seeping into their mines. It also offered hope of mining prime areas that had previously filled with water. Offering pumps capable of removing up to 1,200 gallons of water per minute, the company was quickly sought out for their help. During the second week of February 1879 the company earned $580 equivalent in 2016 dollars to $13,809.52. (1)
