DUBUQUE & TURKEY VALLEY RAILROAD CO. According to the Dubuque City Directory of 1857-1858, the officers of the company included Mathias HAM, President; Louis Boisot, Secretary and Treasurer; and H.A. Wiltse, Attorney. The directors included John THOMPSON, Ham, Platt SMITH, Eliphalet Price, M. K. Jesup, R. R. Mason, and B. W. Balch.
This railroad in 1857 was designed to run from Dubuque along the banks of the MISSISSIPPI RIVER to the mouth of the Turkey River then up that river valley to Elkader.
