BECKER, Harold. (Dubuque, IA, Dec. 11, 1923--Dubuque, IA, July 10, 2016). The son of William and Bertha (Widmar) Becker, Harold attended Sacred Heart Catholic Schools. He married Dorothy Rieck on October 25, 1947, at ST. RAPHAEL'S CATHEDRAL.

Harold served with the U.S. Army in the 1255th Engineer Combat Battalion during WORLD WAR II. After his honorable discharge, he joined his father at William Becker & Sons Stone Company, managing from 1946-1976. In 1976, he co-founded Becker & Becker Stone Company with his son Fred, retiring in 1999. Harold, an avid hunter, fisherman, and conservationist, was a lifelong member of the Amateur Trap Shooting Association of America, the Iowa State Trap Shooting Association, and Ducks Unlimited.
