Fischer held a B.A. Clarke College, M.A.v[[LORAS COLLEGE]] and MFA (Goddard College). In 2010 she served as an English professor and Chair of the Language and Literature Department at [[CLARKE UNIVERSITY]]. She was a frequent presenter at academic conferences and in the academic press on subjects including teaching writing and literature, curriculum design, and computer-mediated instruction.
