In addition to her popular and frequent columns in the TELEGRAPH HERALD, her book Dreaming the Mississippi was published in 2007. In 2008 she explored the question, "What is a Dubuquer?" for Dubuque Terquasquicentennial Volume II--People Places and Events Shaping Our City's First 175 Years published by the Telegraph Herald. She contributed valuable material to this encyclopedia.
