GANNON, Timothy J. (Msgr.) (Grand Junction, IA, Apr. 2, 1904-Dubuque, IA, Jan. 26, 1991). Established the department of psychology at LORAS COLLEGE. Gannon was instrumental in the founding of the Dubuque County Mental Health Center in 1966. He served on the board of the Center from 1966 to 1982. Gannon also helped establish the Iowa State and Dubuque County Mental Health Associations and the Dubuque Pastoral Marriage Counseling Services. He was a charter member of the Iowa Psychological Association and wrote several books.

Gannon held the position of professor at Loras College more than fifty years. A long-time chair of the Loras College Department of Psychology, Gannon also served a term as principal of Loras Academy.
