GLEED'S BREWERY. Also known as the "City Brewery," Gleed's Brewery was a successor of the KEY CITY BREWERY along South Locust in Dubuque. It was operated by Ambrose Gleed from 1872 when he leased the entire operation of the DUBUQUE JOINT BEER BREWING COMPANY until 1876 when it was forced to close. In 1878 the brewery and equipment was purchased by John PIER.
