GODINEZ, Larie
GODINEZ, Larie. (Yorkville, IL-- ). Superintendent. In April 2009 the DUBUQUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT hired Godinez to succeed retiring superintendent, John BURGART. Godinez had been the assistant superintendent for administration and personnel at the Plainfield (IL) School District 202.
In 2010 Dr. Godinez and the District announced their interest in purchasing property that had once belonged to the DUBUQUE PACKING COMPANY. The intent was to construct a new middle school. Public reaction to the plan was swift. Focusing on the location of the property being sided by railroad tracks and a highway, subject to work as part of the Bee Line storm water project, possible contamination, and the projected cost of $14 million led the public during board meetings and editorials to attack the idea. The board later chose to reconsider their plans and encourage more public input.
In the fall of 2010, the District made a commitment to upgrading its media infrastructure after receiving a report of consultants.
