ZUCKERMAN, Harvey
ZUCKERMAN, Harvey. (Dubuque, IA, Oct. 23, 1931- ). Clothier. Zuckerman operated two of Dubuque's most fashionable clothing stores, Stevens and Zuckie's. Zuckie's was opened by his parents during WORLD WAR II to exclusively sell women's fashions. Upon his return from military service in 1955, Zuckerman opened Stevens on Seventh and Main STREETS. He operated the Clothes Horse on University Avenue during the 1960s and moved Stevens to KENNEDY MALL in 1970. Zuckie's closed in January 1991.
Locally Zuckerman has served on the boards of Congregation Beth EL, the Salvation Army, Kennedy Mall Association, DUBUQUE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, FINLEY HOSPITAL, and the Downtown Merchants Association on which he served as president.
