SNUFFBOX. Mussel. Historically rare and living in sporadic locations, this species of mussel may be lost to the MISSISSIPPI RIVER although its small size makes proving its existence difficult. Usually found in riffles, the typical adult measures only 1.5 to 2 inches in length. Its young are hosted by the blackside darter, mottled sculpin, and logperch.
