RANDALL, Job Sherman.(Washington Co., NY, 1816--Dubuque, IA, Aug. 14, 1891). Randall moved to Chicago in 1836 and to Dubuque in 1860. In association with Christopher PELAN, Randall bought Dubuque's first sawmill which had been constructed in 1847 by the Gibbs Brothers. The mill had an annual capacity of three million feet of lumber. (1)

The PELAN & RANDALL remained in operation until February 14, 1877, when Randall bought Pelan's share of the company from his estate. (2) He operated the mill until about 1888. (3)
