W. H. PEABODY AND COMPANY. Founded in 1856, W. H. Peabody and Company was succeeded by D. H. CONYNGHAM when W. H. Peabody sold his interest in the company in 1873. (1) In 1881 LEVENS AND DILLON, operated by Abe Levens and Timothy Dillon, bought out the interests of the latter.

The 1857-58 Dubuque City Directory listed Main between 1st and 2nd.

The 1861 Dubuque City Directory listed 13 Main.

The 1865 through 1873-1874 Dubuque City Directory, gave the address of this business as 48 Main.
