JACKSON, Evelyn
Jackson, Evelyn. (Atonka, TN-- ). President, Dubuque chapter of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF COLORED PEOPLE (N.A.A.C.P.) . A retired elementary principal from Detroit, Michigan, Jackson came to Dubuque in 1993 and succeeded Ernestine MOSS as president of the civil rights organization in 1995.
Jackson received the Ruby Sutton Award in 1995. (1) She served on the Dubuque Human Rights Commission in 2002. (2)
