STEVENSON, Fred G.
STEVENSON, Fred G. (Unknown-Unknown) In 1926, Stevenson was the third superintendent that year in the DUBUQUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT.
Stevenson had served as principal of the DUBUQUE HIGH SCHOOL from 1916 to 1924. He had then accepted a position of principal of Saginaw High School in Saginaw, Michigan.
The remarks quoted in the Telegraph Herald between board members show how divided they were among themselves. Disputes even arose as to how much Stevenson had earned in his last position. Incidents that had arisen while he was a principal were also mentioned publicly.
Despite the controversy, Stevenson was hired to replace Otis P. FLOWER.
