DEAN, Cammie
DEAN, Cammie. (Fort Worth, TX-- ). Director of Student Life at CLARKE COLLEGE (2008). Prior to her position in 2008, Dean was the Director of Multicultural Student Services at Clarke for nine and a half years where she promoted diversity and intercultural understanding. In addition to working at Clarke, she was an Intercultural Competency trainer for the City of Dubuque and choir director at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.; Women United for African-American Success; and served as a Girl Scout troop leader. In 2002 Dean became the first African American to serve on the board of education of the DUBUQUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT. She remained in this office until 2005.
In 2008 Dean served as an adjunct instructor at Wartburg Theological Seminary and co-facilitating an Anti-Racism Workshop. She was the president of the Dubuque chapter of the National Association of Colored People (NAACP) in 2009.
