Cammie Dean, dedicated civil rights activist and community leader

DEAN, Cammie. (Fort Worth, TX-- ). Director of Student Life at Clarke College (2008). Prior to her position in 2008, Dean was the Director of Multicultural Student Services at CLARKE COLLEGE for nine and a half years and promoted diversity and intercultural understanding. In 2002 Dean became the first African American candidate elected to served on the board of education of the DUBUQUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT. She remained in this office until 2005. In 2008 she served as an adjunct instructor at Wartburg Theological Seminary, co-facilitating an Anti-Racism Workshop. She was the president of the Dubuque chapter of the National Association of Colored People (NAACP) in 2009.
