WITTENBERG, Gent. (Detroit, MI, Oct. 27, 1922--Bella Vista, AR, Oct. 29, 2006]] The son of Meyer Wittenberg and Muriel (Sheldon) Wittenberg, Gent was educated in Toledo, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WORLD WAR II and in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married Millie Ann and they were married over 30 years when she died.

Gent was in the legal department of Toledo, Iowa city government for several years. They moved to Dubuque, Iowa where he was Director of Urban Renewal and later became Assistant City Manager. Gent married Ruth Henne on December 22, 1984 in Dubuque, Iowa. They moved to Bella Vista in 1991.

Gent worked for Helping Hands for 14 years, and was President of their Board of Directors for 3 years during the building of their new facility. He was a moderator at the Judson American Baptist Church in Bella for 3 years, after which he served on numerous boards and newsletter editor for the church.
