KRETSCHMER, Charles (Dubuque, IA, Jan. 27, 1899--Dubuque, IA, Feb. 15,1979). President, KRETSCHMER-TREDWAY COMPANY. Kretschmer, president of Kretschmer-Tredway for thirty-two years, was also the president of Dubuque Steel Products Co. He held memberships in many civic organizations including the Dubuque Recreation Commission, Dubuque BOY SCOUTS, and the DUBUQUE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. Kretschmer was an active member of the LORAS COLLEGE Alumni Association and was a founder of the Dubuque American Legion Post No.6 and the American Legion Drum Corps.
Kretschmer served as a member and secretary of the JULIEN DUBUQUE BRIDGE Commission and was president of the Central Supply Association of Wholesalers of Plumbing and Heating Supplies and the Dubuque Traffic Association.
