Bockhaus, Mary Kay. (Cedar Rapids, IA, May 21, 1919-- ). Artist. Bockhaus won first place for her "Needle Point of Dubuque Landmarks" at the YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION (Y.W.C.A.) Needlework Competition in 1997. Two of her paintings of Dubuque scenes were presented to Sendai, Japan and Koriama, Japan by members of the the Friendship Force.

A bookkeeper in Cedar Rapids and Dubuque, Bockhaus was a charter member of Friendship Force in 1979. Her long association with the arts in Dubuque County included membership in the DUBUQUE MUSEUM OF ART beginning in 1950 and and DUBUQUE ART ASSOCIATION beginning in 1950.
