Minnewawa Club. Opposite the present JOHN DEERE DUBUQUE WORKS, the club was located on an island until the lock and dam submerged the land. Most of the old-timers agreed that the area was used often during PROHIBITION. Prior to that, it was a loosely organized men-only gathering site.
