GLEED'S BREWERY. Also known as the "City Brewery," Gleed's Brewery was a successor of the [[KEY CITY BREWERY]] along South Locust in Dubuque. It was operated by Ambrose Gleed from 1872 when he leased the entire operation of the [[DUBUQUE JOINT BEER BREWING COMPANY]] until 1876 when it was forced to close.  In 1878 the brewery and equipment was purchased by [[PIER, John|John PIER]].
