WASHINGTON TRAIL. With termini in Washington, DC, and Seattle, Washington, the Washington Trail was 2,500 miles long and was sponsored by the Washington Highway Association. The ninety-two miles in Iowa included the cities of Dubuque and Mitchell. The route was sponsored on March 23, 1917.
