Minnewawa Club. Social gathering spot. An area approximately opposite the present [[JOHN DEERE DUBUQUE WORKS]], the club was located on an island until the lock and dam submerged the land.  Most of the old-timers agreed that the area was used often during [[PROHIBITION]].  Prior to that, it was a loosely organized men-only gathering site.
