SCHROEDER, Donald D. (Dubuque, IA, Dec. 6, 1920--Dubuque, IA, Sept. 24, 2013). A graduate of LORAS ACADEMY in 1939, Donald worked as NORTHHOME FURNITURE until 1942 and then served as a technical sergeant during WORLD WAR II.
Returning the Dubuque, he was employed at STAMPFER'S DEPARTMENT STORE until 1952. Don and his wife Mildred then opened SCHROEDER'S GROCERY which they operated for sixteen years. He was hired in 1968 as a security guard at the JOHN DEERE DUBUQUE WORKS and retired in 1984.
Donald served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Dubuque and was active in the Uptown Players.
