SUTTER, David. (Dubuque, IA, June 11, 1948--Apache Junction, AZ, Feb. 26, 2017) The son of William Joseph and Ardale Agnes (Whittle) Sutter, David graduated from WAHLERT CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL in 1966. He then served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1972 during the VIETNAM WAR, based in Norfolk, Virginia. He married Beverly Busch on September 26, 1970, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City, Wisconsin.
David volunteered with the Asbury Fire Department for thirteen years. He worked as a fire and safety director for the chemical plant in East Dubuque, Ill., retiring in 2012.
He was well known for his square dance calling, being recognized as the inaugural inductee to the Iowa Callers and Cuers Hall of Fame, as well as receiving the International CALLER LAB half-century certificate.
