RYDER, Thomas. (Dubuque, IA, May, 9, 1863--Dubuque, IA, July 18, 1935). Baseball player. Ryder was twenty-one years old when he began playing in the major leagues on July 22, 1884. He played with the St. Louis Maroons for only one year. He played in eight games and was at bat twenty-eight times. Records show he had a hitting average of .250.
