RUNDE, Robert (Benton, WI, Mar. 11, 1934-- ). Business Agent, Machinists Local 1238. Between 1951 and 1969 while working at [[ADAMS COMPANY (THE)]], Runde moved up through the union serving as union steward, then vice-president and finally president of Machinists Local 1238 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union. He was elected the business representative of the local in 1969 and held the position until his retirement in 1993. He helped establish the United Labor Participation Committee and served as its vice-president from 1973-1993.
