KAISER, August. (Germany, Dec. 3, 1820--Unknown). Proprietor of KAISER'S VINEGAR WORKS Kaiser emigrated to America in December, 1847. Afterward he traveled to California, Australia, Africa before arriving in New York in the spring of 1855.

Kaiser came to Dubuque on December 4, 1855. After making arrangements to go into business, he went to Chicago and remained there until February 1, 1856, when he returned and entered in the city's first vinegar business on the corner of White and Sixth streets. He held the office of City Alderman.
