CYCLONE CLUB. Founded in Dubuque by such leaders as Thomas J. CONLIN, the organization included many important local business men and national "notables." (1)
In 1916 the Club offered $100 for every White Sox player who made a homerun between September and the end of the American League Season. (2) The Club also maintained a cabin south of the city for entertaining. (3) This site at Gordon's Ferry was the scene in 1915 of a large party given for Clarence "Pants" Rowland.
