ARTESIAN BOTTLING COMPANY. In 1989 Artesian was one of three independent bottling companies remaining in Iowa. Artesian Bottling Company, like other independents, sold soft drinks in clear ten-ounce bottles. The flavor of the drink was printed on the bottle cap. The company was founded in 1900.
The 1922 through 1934 Dubuque City Directory listed 2327 Central Avenue. This was the site of the IOWA BREWERY. A fire in 1945 destroyed all the buildings with the exception of the former beer hall.
The 1951 Dubuque City Directory listed 2010 Central.
In 1968 it was located at 901 Liberty Street.
