MARTIN, Shirley. (Dubuque,IA- ). Vice-president, Dubuque division of SANOFI BIO INDUSTRIES. Martin, a graduate of Immaculate Conception Academy, began work as a secretary at the former Keystone Gelatin plant when it began operations in Dubuque. She was promoted to her position while the firm was held by the DUBUQUE PACKING COMPANY.
Active in the community, Martin served on the board of directors of the DUBUQUE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, DUBUQUE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TRI-STATES INC., and the Dubuque Racing Commission. She was vice-president of the Gelatin Manufacturers Institute of America, member of the Dubuque Girl Scout Council, and participated in recruitment efforts for the GREATER DUBUQUE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION.
