BUSY BEE CAFE. Established in 1915, the Busy Bee was one of three established along Clay/Couler and later Central Avenue opened by Peter Petrakis after he arrived in Dubuque in 1907. His brother Charles joined Peter in the restaurant when it opened in 1915. (1) The location was listed in the 1916-1917 'White's Dubuque County Directory'.
The 1923 through 1987 Dubuque City Directory listed the address as 1958 Central, at which it closed on May 31, 1998.
